Dear reader of our newsletter, first of all, on behalf of our whole team of colleagues, I would like to wish you all the best for the new year ahead of us. We look forward to a year with plenty of attention for the user-friendliness of our VMS. In this introduction, Mike van der Wal, Director of Product Management, and I will give you a little foretaste of what is on the roadmap for 2021.
The theme of the roadmap for 2021 is to deepen the core functionality and improve the user-friendliness. The foundation of our product vision is the support of both Fixed, Flex and Projects. This was completed with the delivery of Statement of Work. This year the focus is on deepening the functionality offered and increasing the user-friendliness.
If two subjects are specifically mentioned, then Statement of Work cannot be missing. The core of the solution is ready, namely Worker Management and Project Tracking. What is added to this is the change management and the connection to the invoicing engine. Furthermore, for both fixed and flex, the request and offer functionality is addressed. The aim is to improve the user experience, but also to pick up all kinds of ideas from the Idealab. Of course there are many more developments in the planning, too many to mention here. To give more insight into this, we will organise a webinar about the roadmap on 14 January. We will then explain all the topics and there will also be room to ask questions. At Nétive our development goals are to visualise the wishes of our users as sharply as possible through developing new functionality.
We prefer to understand and determine these wishes at an early stage because that’s when you are most flexible and can still make thorough adjustments to the design. The process of making a design concrete is also called Continuous Improvement, it is a self-replicating process with the aim to guarantee the quality of the product.
Within the framework of Continuous Improvement we have set up the Nétive Workshop. During these workshops our Product Owners sit down together with super application administrators, customer users, supplier users, hiring desk staff and consultants.
In principle, the format is open to interpretation but often the Product Owner will show a first sketch of the design. “An image says more than a thousand words” and that certainly applies to user interfaces. Through the feedback on this first sketch, we quickly get a clear idea of what is and what is not sufficient.
Over the last two months, we held the first workshops for supplier self-registration. At the IdeaLab there are a lot of wishes regarding this part. For the Product Owners it is collaborative way to be able to test the solution directions. A lot of useful information has come out of these workshops, which is taken into account to make the design better aligned to the functional requirements. New workshops on this subject will be organised in January, and later in the year there will be further workshops for topics on the Roadmap. We would love to hear your own thoughts, feedback and ideas.

In order to make changes to a Statement of Work transparent and to be able to secure them properly, it is possible from this release to create revisions for a Statement of Work.
This functionality is part of the SOW Project Tracking module, with which outsourced projects can be fully recorded, tracked and managed centrally. Contract agreements, progress monitoring, budget approval, quality control and invoicing are aspects of SOW that are supported by this module. From the moment that a Statement of Work is definitively approved, changes can only be implemented during the term of the SOW by means of a so-called revision.
If necessary, an approval process can first be completed before the changes in question are activated in the Statement of Work itself. With this functionality it is not only possible to ensure that all parties involved are in agreement with the intended changes, but later on it is always possible to find out when the changes have been made and who has agreed to them. Of course, these workflow and approval steps can be configured as desired.
In this release, the basic functionality for working with revisions is made available. In the next release, the functionality will be further expanded with changes to Work Items via a revision.

The Nétive Manager App is being extended and refreshed in capabilities – to better align to developments made within our VMS.
Last October we made a separation in the task list (on the homepage) and the filter ‘timesheets to be approved’ on the timesheets page. The latter now shows all timesheets from the system that have the status ‘Sent for approval’ or ‘Sent to manager’.
Only the timesheets that are open for approval for the manager in question can be found, as usual, in the task list.
From January 18th, it will be possible for managers to approve assignments and requests in the app, in addition to timesheets. The task list has been extended with the tasks and requests to be approved by the manager so that they can find them quickly. Finally, we added the rate table to the assignments page so that the manager can find all the information in the app to approve an assignment.
